Overview

The City of Pickens is preparing a downtown plan to establish a vision and guide future investments that will uplift the economic vitality of downtown and the city. The Plan will explore a variety of factors including:

• economic development to create a more vibrant commercial district,
• public space improvements to enhance gathering places for citizens and visitors, and
• building a more connected pedestrian- and bike-friendly community.

The Downtown Plan will be prepared during the months of August - December. It will ultimately recommend a future vision for downtown with funding sources and steps to implement real projects led by the City and partners like new facilities, public spaces and enhanced streetscapes.
